Photos: Disney World guests watch solar eclipse 2017

Clouds and a slight rain storm blocked the sky for part of the viewing of the 2017 Solar Eclipse at Disney World. But the clouds did clear giving people at the Magic Kingdom a look at what 83 percent coverage looks like.

The overcast feeling was not only because the the clouds, but even when the clouds cleared the sky was more grey. The park turned on some lights during the Festival of Fantasy Parade around Cinderella Castle as light levels decreased slightly.
The East Plaza Garden area was taken up by the Disney Parks Blog, who were talking to people who were viewing the eclipse. Since we went to the park with eclipse glasses, we were asked to participate. (The blog took some photo and video of us watching, maybe we’ll make the big time and be featured on the site.)

Throughout the park, those with glasses stopped at time to look up, and even people who did not have glasses looked up.
