The best place to watch the new Disney Springs drone show at Disney World is not Disney Springs

The best place to watch Disney Springs, “Starbright Holidays – An Intel Collaboration” – the first drone show at the Disney World resort – is not at Disney Springs.

The five-minute show is made up of 300 Intel Shooting Star drones which are choreographed to a medley of holiday music.

Disney recommends standing near the water on the West Side of Disney Springs to watch the drones over Lake Buena Vista. But the view from Saratoga Springs Resort is better, the drones are a lot closer and brighter as they fly just off shore.

If you are watching from Disney Springs, you get a a nice glow of blue lights in the background as trees and a Mickey Mouse head on the shore near Disney Springs are illuminated in blue lights starting 10 minutes before the show starts.

If you stand at the water’s edge at Saratoga Springs you will get Disney Springs in the background. You also get the added sound of the drones humming in the sky. You also get a better view of the drones flying off at the end to the home base.

We do not recommend going to Saratoga Springs just for the show, since it is only five minutes long and it would take a lot longer to get over there from Disney Springs. But, if you are staying at Disney Springs, head on out to the water and catch the show.

The seasonal show is taking place Nov 20 to Jan. 8, 2017 at 7 and 8:30 p.m.
