Here’s a quick look at seven things to look forward to in 2017:

1. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Finally, a Marvel-themed ride comes to a Disney park in the United States. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in California Adventure will be shut down in January and will reopen in the summer of 2017 as a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. In the new version: The Collector has opened his unique array of fauna, relics and species to guests for a special tour culminating with his prized possessions: the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket, the genetically modified raccoon who loves to build and explode things, has a plan to free his friends – and that plan includes recruiting guests in the rescue effort.

2. Main Street Electrical Parade: Yes! The classic parade is coming home to Disneyland. For a limited time — Jan. 20 to June 18, 2017 — the synthesized music of “Baroque Hoedown” will fill the air each night. It’s been more than 20 years since the parade, which originated at Disneyland, was in California. Welcome home!

3. Disneyland’s big return: For the past year a large portion of Disneyland has been shut down due to the construction of the new Star Wars Land. But in the summer of 2017, these major attractions will return: Fantasmic!, the Disneyland Railroad and the Rivers of America, including the Sailing Ship Columbia, the Mark Twain Riverboat and Tom Sawyer’s Island.
4. D23Expo 2017: This major event from the official Disney fan club comes back to Disneyland to bring together the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. The Expo will feature a show floor full of immersive experiences and special opportunities to see what’s next for Disney around the world—and guests may run into their favorite Disney stars, characters, Imagineers, animators, and filmmakers. 5. Longer Lunar New Year celebration: The celebration at California Adventure has been expanded to 17 days, Jan. 20 to Feb. 5, 2017. There will be live performances, Disney characters in their Lunar New Year costumes, and foods inspired by Asian cultures. Among the new entertainment offerings is “Hurry Home,” a special six-minute water and projection show on Paradise Bay that follows the journey of Little Lantern on its way home for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.
6. Super Hero meet-and-greet: In the Hollywood Land section of California Adventure the Guardians of the Galaxy will join Captain America, Spider-Man and others to greet guests at the Hollywood Backlot.
7. A new Princess will meet the public: Also in California Adventure, Princess Elena from the Disney Channel series “Elena of Avalor,” will be on hand to greet guests.
