7 fun facts about the drones in the new drone light show at Disney World
Disney is collaborating with Intel to create a new kind of entertainment at Disney World.
The nighttime light show features new Intel Shooting Star drones as part of a holiday show called “Starbright Holidays.” In coordination with music, the drones will light up with a flying Christmas tree and a dove.
Here are seven fun facts about the drones:
1. This is the first time a drone show of this scale has been performed in the United States.
2. The drone features built-in LED lights that can create over 4 billion color combinations in the sky.
3. The drones can fly for up to 20 minutes.
5. The I drone is splash-proof and can fly in light rain.
6. The drone weighs only 280 grams (0.617 pounds) – less than the weight of a volleyball.
7. All 300 drones can be controlled by one computer and one drone pilot. However, there is always a second pilot on hand as backup.
