9 photos from Disney World in 1971

It’s always fun to look back at historic photos from Walt Disney World, especially from the time around the Magic Kingdom’s opening on Oct. 1, 1971.

One of the fun things is to see how empty the park was at the time. A couple of other things to watch for are how the park has changed and in other ways how the park has not changed since opening.

These photos from the State Archives of Florida give a taste of what the Magic Kingdom was like.
