Two-tier pricing for Wishes Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom

© Mary Liebman

Beginning Oct. 1, there will be two ways to experience the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party: Sitting or standing. The seat will cost you an extra $20.

Guests to both versions of the party begin the evening with a dessert buffet. After dessert, guests for the Tomorrowland Terrace dessert party will be escorted to their tables, while those for the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing will be escorted to a “prime viewing location” in the Plaza Garden. It’s likely this will be one of the areas that used to be set aside for FastPass viewing of the fireworks — set a bit back from the castle, closer to the Plaza Restaurant or Casey’s.

The price for Plaza Garden guests is $59 per adult and $35 per child (age 3-9). Guests at Tomorrowland Terrace will pay $79 per adult and $47 per child. Notably, the prices specify that they are “not including tax and gratuity.” This could add considerably to your family’s tab.

This is a major difference from other dessert parties around the parks — including the Galactic Spectacular at Hollywood Studios and the Illuminations dessert party at Epcot — where prices include tax and gratuity. (There is no mention of a gratuity at the Wishes Holiday Dessert Party, which will take place this year during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.)

If the price isn’t your driving consideration in which party to book, you have two more things to consider: The seat, and the view.

Do you really just want a place to sit down, away from the crowd, at the end of the night? Then the Tomorrowland Terrace is for you.

As for the view, the lower part of the castle is partially obscured from Tomorrowland Terrace — which may affect your enjoyment of the Celebrate the Magic show that is projected onto the castle. If you want a more straight-on view of the castle, you may prefer the Plaza Garden area. You can also sit there, but people have a tendency to stand up against the railing right in front of you, so it’s likely you’ll wind up standing for the fireworks themselves.

Reservations for both versions of the party are available online at the above links or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463.
