Disney is giving us a first look at the revived “DuckTales” TV series as part of the walk-up to this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego.
The new show, which is set to debut on Disney XD in 2017, will be executive produced by Matt Youngberg (“Ben 10: Omniverse”), with story editor Francisco Angones (“Wander Over Yonder”) and art director Sean Jimenez (“Gravity Falls” and the Mickey Mouse TV shorts).
In addition to announcing the creative team, Disney released the first teaser art for the new show, which you can see below.
The artwork will appear on the back cover of DuckTales Cinestory Volume 1 comic, a collectible edition that retells the first five episodes of the 1987 DuckTales TV show, which will be available in comic book stores Sept. 27.
When DuckTales returns to TV in 2017, its star power will be increased exponentially as Donald Duck joins Scrooge McDuck and nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie as a series regular. In the original, Uncle Donald was off serving in the Navy and only made occasional appearances.
