Disneyland to mark Star Wars Day, May the 4th
Star Wars Weekends may have gone by the wayside, but May the 4th will live on this year — at least in Disneyland.
Tomorrowland already is home to Star Wars Launch Bay. This year on May the 4th, fans will find a few more special Star Wars-themed experiences:
- At Tomorrowland Theater, see an episode of “Star Wars Rebels.” The episode, “Shroud of Darkness,” features Yoda, voiced by Frank Oz.
- Commemorative merchandise and all-new Star Wars collector glasses will be for sale, and guests can visit a “unique, themed photo location.”
- A fan celebration will be held at 6 p.m. at the Galactic Grill Stage, with trivia and other “special surprises” throughout the evening.
May the 4th, of course, is a semi-official holiday celebrated by Star Wars fans (along with even-less-official Revenge of the 5th). The date was chosen only because of the easy play on words: “May the Fourth be with you.”
So far, there’s no word of any special events at Disney World, where Hollywood Studios is busy preparing for its new fireworks show, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular,” which is scheduled to debut this summer.
