Young Han Solo movie gets a release date
The idea of a “young Han Solo” movie has kept Star Wars fans entertained with speculation about who would step into Harrison Ford’s shoes for months, and now we’ve finally learned when the movie will hit theaters.
On Wednesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the release is scheduled for May of 2018, and the movie already is in pre-production. The movie still doesn’t have an official title.
Disney has reportedly met with “thousands” of young actors and has winnowed the list of potential Han Solos down to just a few.
Some of us are gritting our teeth about this casting, hoping that whoever gets the nod turns out to be less annoying than Shia LaBeouf was in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”
The young Han also is rumored to have a cameo in the first spinoff movie, “Rogue One,” which takes place between Episodes III and IV. Check out our complete list of premiere dates for “Rogue One” and all of the upcoming Star Wars movies.
