Photos: Update of Rivers of Light construction at Animal Kingdom in Disney World

The area where the new “Rivers of Light” nighttime show will be held at Animal Kingdom in Disney World has been filled in with bleacher type seating along the Discovery River.

The Rivers of Light is a new immersive nighttime experience opening in the spring 2016, and will combine live performances with floating lanterns, water screens and theatrical imagery, in a celebration of animals and nature.

The show begins with the arrival of a pair of Shamans, two complimentary forces who come to the river bearing gifts of light. Along with their assistants, the Shamans set out from the shore on elaborate lantern vessels, engaging in the dance of water and light to summon the animal spirits.

If you want to keep track of the construction yourself when visiting, head to the back seating areas, near the water ,of the Flame Tree Barbecue. From here, you get a great view of the construction. This should be a great seating area to watch the show. But more likely it could be the premium seating area for what could be the eventual dessert party.
