Disney World announces final narrators, including Kurt Russell, to upcoming Candlelight Processional

The final narrators have been announced for the for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot in Disney World, taking place this upcoming holiday season, and include Disney Legends Kurt Russell and Jodi Benson, Olympian Laurie Hernansez and actress Ana Gasteyer.

The Candlelight Processional is an annual tradition at the Disney World featuring the retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a large choir. It is held at the America Gardens Theatre outside the American Pavilion at Epcot.

This will be the first time for Russell, who has starred in Disney films from the 1960s to 2017’s “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” and also for gold- and silver-medal-winning Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

Benson, one of the most beloved Disney figures who voiced Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” and Gasteyer, know for her six-year stint on “Saturday Night Live,” as well as her roles in “Suburgatory” and “People of Earth.”

Showtimes take place three time each day from Nov. 24 to Dec. 30, 2017 at 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.


Availability to see the shows is limited. There is a first-come, first serve standby area, and then there are a number of reserved seats for those who purchase dining packages.
