Disney to webcast shareholders meeting for vote on Fox deal on July 27
The Walt Disney Company will be webcast live its shareholders’ meeting as a vote is to take place on $71.3 billion purchase of certain 21 Century Fox assets.
The meeting will take place on July 27, 2018, at 10 a.m. EDT/ 7 a.m. PDT. on its investor’s site.
Fox shareholders will vote on the deal on the same day.
Disney postponed a July 10 shareholders meeting to vote on an earlier agreement after Comcast made a $65 billion all-cash bid for Fox assets. Disney countered and on Comcast later dropped its bid and its focus on purchasing the British pay-TV service.
July 27, is also the day United Kingdom officials are due to review the value of Sky TV.
The UK Takeover Panel, according to Bloomberg, panel can force Disney or Comcast to bid for all of Sky at the price ascribed during the Fox acquisition. Depending on what they value Sky, it could increase the acquisition price by millions.
