New Star Wars experiences coming to Hollywood Studios Dec. 1

It’s not the Season of the Force — not officially, not yet — but several new Star Wars experiences will be coming to Hollywood Studios Dec. 1.

Here’s what’s new:

Star Wars Launch Bay: The old Magic of Disney Animation building will now host an immersive experience where guests can encounter Chewbacca and Darth Vader, see exhibits, learn about the Star Wars universe and buy merchandise.

Star Tours — The Adventure Continues: The popular ride will include a new adventure “inspired by” the forthcoming Star Wars film. In a preview clip, your Star Tours vehicle follows the Millennium Falcon through a battle. If you’ve been on Star Tours in the past couple of years, you know the scenes are randomly mixed up. But in this case, everyone who rides for the first few months will experience the new adventure. After that, it will go into the rotation. Here’s a clip of the new footage:

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple: After a brief closure, the amazing Jedi Training will reopen with a new set and a new villain — the Seventh Sister, a Jedi-hunting Inquisitor from the animated Star Wars: Rebels TV series.

Star Wars: Path of the Jedi: A compilation of scenes from the complete Star Wars saga, as if anyone hasn’t seen them all.

Of course, there’s more to come. Construction begins next year on the major expansion Hollywood Studios. But first, a Star Wars-themed fireworks show will debut in January.
