Epcot Flower & Garden Festival growing in 2016
The 23rd Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will expand to 90 days next year, running from March 2 through May 30.
That means 15 additional days to enjoy the topiaries, outdoor kitchens, designer presentations and entertainment.
What’s new
Topiaries: Donald Duck’s nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie will make their Flower & Garden debut as part of a “Victory Garden” at the park’s front entrance. Ranger Mickey Mouse will mark the centennial of the National Parks Service in Future World. The Anna and Elsa topiaries will move to Norway, where the “Frozen Ever After” ride is rumored to be opening May 1.
Kids’ play area: A new “Fab Five” play garden will have musical instruments built into the climbing systems. And, of course, the Fab Five themselves — Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald.
Returning favorites
Outdoor Kitchens: The best addition to the Flower & Garden Festival in recent years has been the food and wine — in the form of Outdoor Kitchens focusing on fresh and seasonal ingredients. For those of us who don’t love the drunken antics of the Food & Wine Festival, this is the next best — and maybe even better — thing.
Garden Rocks concert series: The acts haven’t been announced, but Disney promises music spanning four decades at the outdoor amphitheater at the American Adventure pavilion.
Designer presentations: Get inspiration and advice from experts at the Festival Center.
