Take My Money Mickey: Banks to save for your next Disney vacation

What some people call “spare change,” we call “Mickey Money.” Almost every penny, nickel, dime and quarter that comes into our house goes into a jar for our next trip to Disney.

Even small change can really add up over time. The most we’ve managed to save in our jars was about $120 — a sum that would get you off to a nice start eating and drinking around the world at Epcot.

Another bonus: It’s a great way to teach your kids about saving toward a goal.

But rather than just stash your change in an old vase or pickle jar, how about starting with a reminder of what you — or your kids — are saving for? You can find a bank for just about any Disney fan. Here’s a sampling of some of our favorites, starting with a couple of classics:

Mickey Mouse bank, $29.95 at the Disney Store.
Minnie Mouse bank, $29.95 at the Disney Store.
Disney by Britto Mickey Mouse bank, $39.99 at Amazon.com.
(At just 5-1/2 inches tall, your Mickey Money might not amount to much in this bank.)
Saving for Star Wars Weekend? A Clone Trooper should protect your stash.
$29.99 at Amazon.com.
Save more you will, in this Yoda bank, $22.51 at Amazon.com.
Saving peanuts? Try a Dumbo bank. $29.95 at the Disney Store.
For Frozen families, here’s a three-pack of tin banks featuring Anna, Elsa and Olaf
(and a batch of stickers). $15.95 at Amazon.com
Even Tony Stark must have started saving his pennies somewhere.
Iron Man bank, $19.95 at the Disney Store.
