See the first 6 minutes of Disney’s ‘Descendants’
With just a few days until its premiere, Disney has released the first six minutes of “Descendants,” the movie that gives us a peek into the lives of the teenage offspring of some of Disney’s most iconic villains.
Kenny Ortega, the director who brought you High School Musical and the choreographer behind “Dirty Dancing,”
introduces the first 6 minutes of the “Descendants,” which premieres at 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, on Disney Channel.
A bit of backstory: The movie takes place in a present day kingdom where Belle and Beast rule as king as queen. (King Adam. Who knew he had a name?) Their teenage son is about to take the throne and wants to give the spawn of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar a chance to redeem themselves. Naturally, that involves them attending prep school alongside the offspring of Disney heroes including the Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan.
But will Disney’s “Descendants” answer the most burning question of all: How did all of these characters end up with teenage offspring anyway — and all at the same time? (Who knew the Fairy Godmother had a love life?)
