Disney-Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ original score being released June 16

The original score for the upcoming Disney-Pixar film “Inside Out” will be released June 16, 2015, three days before the movie opens.

Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino, who also worked on “Up,” Cars 2,” Ratatouille” and “The Incredibles” said, “We were going for something atmospheric. Something that wasn’t traditional film score.”

The score was recorded with a 70-piece orchestra with an organ and a rhythm section that consisted of guitars and a drummer.

The goal of the music was the same as the goal of the film, “It had to feel emotional,” Giacchino said in a press release. “I wasn’t sure how I wanted it to sound, but I knew how I wanted it to feel. This film is personal.”

The movie, according to the official synopsis, is about young girl, Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters.
