‘Inside Out’ preview coming to Epcot in Disney World
Disney seems to have found the perfect venue for showing extended movie previews: the Imagination Pavilion theater at Epcot, which until recently was home to “Captain Eo” and, before that, “Honey I Shrunk the Audience.”
A preview of Pixar’s latest, “Inside Out,” will run there beginning May 30, Disney said yesterday. The movie opens in theaters June 19.
The “Inside Out” preview will include “special in-theater effects,” Disney said. We’re hoping that means they’ve found a way to bring back the escaped rats from the old “Honey I Shrunk the Audience” show.
This will be the second preview at the theater, which is currently running a sneak peek of “Tomorrowland,” which will end its run May 24.
It seems likely this means Captain Eo isn’t coming back. What could be next at the theater? We have a few ideas:
- AntMan, opening July 17, introduces a new superhero to the Disney’s Marvel universe. The tiny hero could probably use a big publicity push.
- The next Disney•Pixar film, “The Good Dinosaur” on Nov. 25.
- And of course, Dec. 18 will bring “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” although it’s hard to imagine running a special preview at Epcot rather than Hollywood Studios.
