DuckTales: Remastered — the popular title that has its roots in the 8-bit video games of the 1980s — made its debut today on mobile devices.
The gameplay is familiar: You play as Scrooge McDuck, traveling by pogo stick through the Himalayas, Amazon, Transylvania, African mines, and the moon in search of the five Legendary Treasures.
The game retains the look and feel of the original cartoon, with hand-drawn animated sprites and painted backgrounds. The original voice actors also lend their talents to the game.
It has both an easy mode for casual players and a new “Extreme” mode for devoted fans, and it does support Bluetooth controllers.
The game for iOS, Android, and Windows devices costs $9.99 — and does not ding you for in-app purchases.
Expect to see a lot more DuckTales in the coming years. A new version of the classic TV series is planned for 2017.
DuckTales: Remastered for mobile devices includes 90 pieces of production art from the original series, which you can unlock through gameplay. |
