Disney’s 3-disc Legacy Collection being released May 20 focuses on Disneyland’s 60th anniversary

The next release of Disney’s The Legacy Collection is a 3-disc set celebrating the 60th anniversary of Disneyland.

The collection will be available exclusively at Disneyland starting May 20 with a wide release of Aug. 21, 2015.

The collection explore the history of the resort, starting with recordings of opening day July 17, 1955. Disc One and Two covers music and sounds from Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown and Tomorrowland, plus five songs from Disney California Adventure Park.

Disc Three features an additional 12 songs from Disney California Adventure, plus music from “The Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Fantasmic!”

The liner notes in the 24-page booklet provides historical background by writer Stacia Martin, a 37-year veteran of the Walt Disney Company and Disney Historian, who oversees special projects for many divisions of the company including Walt Disney World, Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Records.
