The Doctor has traveled through space and time, and soon he’ll be landing somewhere new: Disney XD.
Disney’s flagship cable channel will air seasons two through four of “Doctor Who,” featuring David Tennant as the Time Lord.
A little background for those who aren’t part of the fandom already: “Doctor Who” is a British science-fiction series that dates to 1963. Ostensibly made for children, the series follows the sometimes-scary adventures of the Doctor and his (mostly human) companions as they travel through space and time and take on some of the most recognizable sci-fi villains of all time. While it is known as a children’s show, “Doctor Who” has a huge adult fan following around the world. And did we mention it can be super scary?
“Doctor Who” will begin airing on Saturday, May 9. Eight more episodes begin airing daily Saturday, June 13 through Saturday, June 20. Beginning June 14, episodes will also be available on the WATCH Disney XD app, which allows consumers to watch on tablets, phones, computers and connected TVs.
