Disney resorts rolling out new allergy-friendly menus

Disney World and Disneyland already have a reputation for being fantastically allergy-friendly — chefs may even call you in advance of your trip to make sure your needs are taken care of, and they frequently stop by your table.

Today, Disney is making it even easier to eat at the resorts by introducing allergy-friendly menus at about 120 restaurants in both Disney World and Disneyland. The new menus focus on the most common food allergies — gluten/wheat, milk, peanut, tree nut and fish — and will debut at signature restaurants today. They will be introduced at other table-service and quick-service restaurants through September.

“In 2013 alone, our cast members assisted with more than 650,000 special dietary requests,” Gary Gones, chef and culinary dietary specialist for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, told the Disney Parks Blog. “These new allergy menus are another way in which we can provide high-quality, safe and more accessible alternatives, and the best possible dining experience for guests with specific dietary needs.”
