
Disney World releases calendar of nature celebrations in 2015
Disney World has put together its lineup of nature celebrations for the year.
From honoring the planet to the world’s oceans, to birds and animals, Disney World has set aside nine dates for various events, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Here are they are:
April 22, 2015 – Earth Day/Party for the Planet: The annual Earth Day celebration returns to Animal Kingdom and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot. At these locations you will learn how you can help animals by creating wildlife-friendly spaces in your backyard. Explore ways to protect and care for marine life through engaging activities.
May 9, 2015 – International Migratory Bird Day: At Animal Kingdom you can become an honorary bird and learn about the 350 species of wild birds at the park.
May 21, 2015 – World Turtle Day: Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends will have hands-on activities about turtles.
August 1, 2015 – Tour de Turtles: Two turtles who have made their nests at Vero Beach Resort will be equipped with satellite transmitters which allow sea turtle fans to follow the marathon migration of these turtles from their nesting beaches to their foraging grounds.
June 3, 2015 – World Oceans Day
June 11, 2015 – Pollinator Day
July 30, 2015 – Big Cat Day
August 20, 2015 – Primate Day
September 24, 2015 – Elephant and Rhino Day
