Lego made a huge splash at Toy Fair last week, introducing more than 300 sets, from Scooby Doo (with the Mystery Machine!) to “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Jurassic World.” But perhaps its biggest fanfare was reserved for the introduction of 32 Star Wars sets tied in to almost every chapter in the ever-expanding saga.
Fear not: You’ll find no spoilers here. Lego has reserved the introduction of two sets tied to Episode VII until later this year, presumably to keep details under wraps as long as possible.
Here’s a look at some of the new offerings:
Ultimate Collector Series TIE Fighter: This model measures more than 18″ high and 12″ wide when finished. With 1,685 pieces, it will sell for about $200 when it is released in May.
Boba Fett’s Slave I: With nearly 2,000 pieces, this set will stun fans of Boba Fett. Yes, there’s a Boba mini figure included, but the best thing about this set may be the Lego Han Solo encased in carbonate. $199.99; expected to ship March 2.
Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader: Build your own “constraction figures” — that’s shipper for “constructible action figures” — starting with Luke and Darth Vader in September ($19.99 and up). Additional figures will be introduced throughout the year.
The new sets span the whole sprawling Star Wars saga. New sets are tied to all six of the existing movies, The Clone Wars (including Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter, pictured above, $39.99), and the current Disney XD series “Star Wars: Rebels.” Sets from “Star Wars: Rebels” include Ezra’s Speeder Bike (below, $19.99) and a Wookiee Gunship (bottom, $69.99).
