Disney tops Cruiser’s Choice Awards for third straight year

Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line has once again sailed to the top of the Cruiser’s Choice Awards.

Disney came out on top in 12 categories for 2015, including — no surprise here — Best for Families. The Disney Dream claimed top honors as Best Large Ship, the third year in a row a Disney ship has taken top honors. The Disney Wonder was named Best Midsize Ship.

The awards are based on the ratings of “everyday cruisers who post ship reviews on Cruise Critic,” according to the website. This year’s awards were based on reviews of cruises taken during 2014.

“Being named to this list of winners is one of the highest forms of praise cruise lines can receive,” Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor in chief of Cruise Critic, said in a statement. “The awards represent the compilation of thousands of reviews Cruise Critic received over the past year, so it’s truly representative of the experiences of those who have sailed on the ships first-hand.”

Here’s a complete list of Disney’s first place awards:

  • Disney Dream: Best Large Ship, Large Ship Best Entertainment, Public Rooms, and Best Cruises to the Bahamas
  • Disney Wonder: Best Midsize Ship, Best for Service
  • Disney Fantasy: Large Ship Best Cabin, Best Service, Best for Embarkation, and Best for Families
  • Disney Magic: Midsize Best for Embarkation, and Best Entertainment

The large ship class includes ships designed for 2,000 or more passenger, while midsize chips carry 1,200 to 1,999 passenger. The Disney Dream has 1,250 staterooms and can carry up to 4,000 passengers.
