PHOTOS: Japanese women celebrate ‘Coming of Age Day’ at Tokyo Disneyland

Numerous Japanese women dressed in kimonos came to Tokyo Disneyland to celebrate the country’s annual “Coming of Age Day.”

The holiday, held on the second Monday of January, marks when teenagers turn 20 and officially reach adulthood in Japan. Ceremonies take place throughout the country.

The number of people aged 20 years old is estimated to stand at 1.26 million this year, an increase of 50,000 from 2014.
