Photos of where new Star Wars experience will be located at Disney Springs

Construction is taking place at Disney Springs for a new hyper-reality “Star Wars” experience coming to Disney World.

The Void, which is producing the experience, will be located in the former Star Wars area of the Once Upon a Toy store in the Marketplace area of Disney Springs, next to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

There is not much left of the Once Upon a Toy store, which boasted once as the largest assortment of toys and games in all of Walt Disney World Resort.

The new interactive experience will e called Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire and will plunge fans into the Star Wars universe in an “untethered, social, and multi-sensory experience, including interaction with friends, fans, and Star Wars characters,” Lucasfilm has previously said. 

Vicki Dobbs Beck, executive in charge of ILMxLAB, said the new experience coming from THE VOID combines “Lucasfilm’s storytelling expertise with cutting-edge imagery, and immersive sound from the team at Skywalker Sound, while invoking all the senses,” she said. “We hope to truly transport all those who experience Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire to a galaxy far, far away.”
