‘Frozen’ topiaries to be unveiled at 2015 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Disney’s first Anna and Elsa topiaries will appear during the 75-day festival from March 4 to May 17 at Disney World. The topiary vignette at the World Showcase Plaza will be based on a scene from the film’s finale, illustrated with white and silver blooms of delphinium, alyssum and other floral varieties, according to Disney.

Chip and Dale topiaries will anchor the front entrance “Goofy About Spring” floral vignettes. In addition nearly 100 crafted topiaries, including Snow White, Bambi, Mickey Mouse, Simba and Peter Pan, will be placed around the park.

A Southwest desert garden will premiere with 10 new mini-gardens, including a Health Garden, located near The Land pavilion in Future World, where medicinal plants will be displayed and a Shakespeare Garden at the United Kingdom pavilion where roses represent Romeo and Juliet and rosemary from Hamlet and lavender from The Winter’s Tale will be featured.

“This is one of our most ambitious festivals ever,” Eric Darden, festival horticulture manager, said in a news release. “We’re telling stories we’ve never told before. You’ll get a fresh taste of spring — it’ll be like the first spring farmer’s market for America.”

For the third year in a row, outdoor kitchens will be available, think of this has a floral and food festival. The weekend concert series and gardening seminars will be returning.

There will be several special weekends taking place as well, including Art in the Garden Weekend (March 27-29); Florida Fresh Weekend (April 24-26);and Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Weekend (May 8-10).
