Now, how do you refurbish a ride involving submarines in a lagoon? Well, you can take the submarines out, but they are on a track. The better way is to daring the lagoon of its 5 million gallons of water.
But in California, you don’t want to waste the water. According to the Disney Parks Blog, Disneyland drained the 5 million gallons to the Orange County Water District’s Groundwater Replenishment System “where it is purified and added to Orange County’s underground water supply,” according to the blog.
Disneyland then refills the lagoon from the same system.
