Disney Facts: 7 quick facts about Disneyland’s landscaping
Part of the atmosphere at the Disneyland Resort is made of something most people overlook or take for granted – the landscaping.

The flowers, bushes and trees planted around the parks are carefully manicured and help with the storytelling.
At the Disneyland Resort, there are more than 800 species of plants. Here’s a seven quick facts from Disney about the landscaping around the resort:
1. There are approximately 18,000 trees and 125,000 shrubs around the entire resort, including Disneyland, California Adventure, Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian Hotel, Paradise Pier Hotel and Downtown Disney.
2. There are 22 topiary animals and characters at the resort.
4. Nearly 1 million annuals are planted each year.
5. More than 80 miles of landscape irrigation pipe run underground.
6. The Mickey Mouse flower “portrait” at the Disneyland entrance is planted nine times a year featuring 3,600 annuals in the face and 6,400 on the sides for a total of approximately 90,000 plants per year.
7. The oldest living tree at the resort is a 150-year-old Mugho Pine that is only two feet tall. It can be seen during the cruise on the Storybook Land Canal Boats.
