List of Disney World rides and attractions permanently closed in 2016
As we reach the end of 2016 we once again look back at all of the rides and attractions we have lost this year at Disney World.
Over 30 attractions, shops and entertainment permanently closed in 2016, the largest amount in Hollywood Studios to make way for the new Toy Story and Star Wars lands.
In 2015, there were about a dozen permanent closures and over 20 in 2014.
So let’s raise a glass and sing say “Auld Lange Syne” to the rides and attractions which are no more:
June 17: Meet-and-Greet with Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall at the Magic Kingdom.
October 13: Sbandieratori Di Sansepolcro Flag Wavers at the Italy Pavilion at Epcot.
January 3: Ribab Fusion, a band in the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot.
January 4: Joffrey’s coffee kiosk at Hollywood Studios.
January 5: Phineas & Ferb Meet-and-Greet, and Lightning McQueen & Mater Meet and Greet at Hollywood Studios.
January 7: Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studios.
January 11: Pizza Planet Arcade at Hollywood Studios.
January 18: Habit Heroes in Innoventions West at Epcot.
March 12: Gi-Tar Dan, roving musical entertainment, at Animal Kingdom.
April 3, 2016: Dream Along with Mickey show in front of the Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom.
April 3, 2016: Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure at Hollywood Studios, Mike and Sulley at Street of America , Prop Shop, Studio Catering Co., Watto’s Grotto, High Octane Refreshments, New York News, Youse Guys Moychindise, Streets of America at Hollywood Studios.
April 17: TrandNation, who performed on the Canada Pavilion stage at Epcot.
June 1: Celebrate the Season show in front of the Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom.
June 17: Meet-and-Greet with Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall at the Magic Kingdom.
August 28: Les Parfaits Inconnus music band at the Canada Pavilion at Epcot.
September 6: The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic night time show at Animal Kingdom.
September 15: Sum of all Thrills and StormStruck at Epcot.
October 3: Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon.
October 10: Main Street Electrical Parade at the Magic Kingdom.
October 13: Sbandieratori Di Sansepolcro Flag Wavers at the Italy Pavilion at Epcot.
October 20: Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza at Hollywood Studios.
November 4: Celebrate the Magic Cinderella projection show at the Magic Kingdom.
