Baby gorilla is born at Animal Kingdom in Disney World

A male gorilla was born Aug. 7, 2014 to mother Azizi and father Gino. This is the fourth gorilla to be born at Animal Kingdom. . The first gorilla was born in 1997, the second in 1999 and the third inn 2010.

The baby has yet to be named by the primate team, who is monitoring the mother and baby. 

We’re pleased with the way Azizi is bonding with her baby and meeting his needs,” Jay Therien, Animal Operations Manager for Disney’s Animal Programs, said in a news release.  ”As we work to maintain the population of critically endangered western lowland gorillas, healthy babies like this little guy are critical to the survival of his species.”
