Anna and Elsa will have more adventures — in book form
It may take a while for a Frozen sequel to hit the big screen, but young readers will get to return to Arendelle in January.
Random House says it plans to publish a series of chapter books aimed at young readers that will expand on the world of Frozen. The books will continue the story where the movie left off, following Anna and Elsa “as they get to know each other as sisters,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The first two Anna & Elsa books — All Hail the Queen and its sequel, Memory and Magic — will hit the shelves Jan. 6. Two more will be published later in the year. The books will be written by Erica David, who has a long history of writing licensed books spun off from popular movies.
Disney already has sold more than 8 million books related to Frozen, the Associated Press reported, but this series will be the “canon” continuation of the story.
With a Broadway musical and an ice show already in the works, and a story arc on TV’s “Once Upon a Time” coming this fall, all that seems to be left for Disney to announce is the movie sequel.
