New Mickey Mouse apparel inspired by ‘Steamboat Willie’ is released
A special fashion collection by Opening Ceremony inspired by Mickey Mouse in his debut short “Steamboat Willie” has been released.
The film stills are translated in vivid colors on button-down shirts, tees, sweatshirts, and plush-soft knit sweaters, according to a press release. Opening Ceremony also collaborated with others to develop accessories including: New Era for the classic 5950 caps and custom developed bucket hats, Vans for slip on, low-top and skate-high shoes, and Tabio for finely-crafted socks.
“Steamboat Willie” was the first cartoon synchronized to sound. It was released Nov. 18, 1928 at the Colony Theater in New York.
