IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party introduced at Epcot

Have you ever strolled past one of those “private parties” at Epcot wishing you were one of the lucky invitees?

Well, stop wishing and start dialing the phone.

This month Disney is launching an IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party — an after-dark event that gives you lagoon-side seats for IllumiNations, along with an array of desserts from around the World Showcase paired with sparkling wine and Prosecco.

The party will be thrown three nights a week starting March 15. Reservations are open now.

The details:

• When: 7:45-9:20 p.m., Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 
• Where: World Showcase Plaza
• Prices: $49 for adults, $29 for children
• How to book: Call 407-WDW-PLAY up to 180 days in advance. You also should be able to go online to DisneyWorld.com/spring, but the link has been troublesome so far. Judging from the popularity of the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom, you’ll want to plan this 180 days in advance, and not a moment later. 

The menu:

• Italy: Tiramisu
• France: Vanilla Pot de Creme
• Morocco: Traditional Baklava
• American Adventure: Sugar Dusted Cronis with Strawberry Sauce and Whipped Cream (we think this is Disney’s version of a “cronut” — the croissant/donut hybrid with the trademarked name) 
• Disney Parks ice cream novelties
• Lemonade, coffee, teas
• Sparkling wine from Washington state and Prosecco from Italy
