Disney cleans up at the Annie Awards

Disney had a great night at the Annies on Saturday, taking home statues in 15 categories from the International Animated Film Society’s 41st annual awards ceremony.

“Frozen” predictably led the way, winning Best Animated Feature. Actor Josh Gad also won a statue for his work as the voice of Olaf. In the movie categories, short film “Get a Horse!” and the feature “Monsters University” were both honored.

Disney’s TV division also had a good night, with “Sophia the First,” “Toy Story of Terror!” and the new Mickey Mouse shorts all taking home statues.

“Monsters University”

  • Outstanding Achievement, Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Production: Dean Kelly  
  • Outstanding Achievement, Editorial in an Animated Feature Production: Greg Snyder, Gregory Amundson, Steve Bloom 

“Sofia the First”

  • Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production For Preschool Children 

“Toy Story of Terror!”

  • Outstanding Achievement, Directing in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production: Angus MacLane 
  • Outstanding Achievement, Character Animation in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production: Kureha Yokoo 
  • Outstanding Achievement, Storyboarding in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production: Daniel Chong 

“Mickey Mouse”
