Every Halloween Jack Skellington and the characters from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” take over the Haunted Mansion. This year, 13 surprise objects have been placed along inside the ride, according to Disney.

This is the 13th year the mansion has been transformed and normally has contained an annual gingerbread house centerpiece. This year’s Gingerbread Mansion, resembles a confectionery Advent Calendar. Every week throughout its run, a different door will reveal one of the 13 faces of Jack
Skellington.

Here are some facts about the Haunted Mansion Holiday:

* The Gingerbread Mansion features Ginger-dead Zombie Cookies and Ginger-goyles perched on its ledges. The piece stands more than 13 feet tall and weighs more than 500 pounds. It required nearly 240 pounds of gingerbread, 160 pounds of fondant and 150 pounds of royal icing.

* More than 400 candles are placed around the facade of the Haunted Mansion.

* New for 2013, Jack Skellington and his ghost dog Zero appear in a fully animated sequence on the ceiling of the “stretching” room, which transports guests into the depths of the Mansion.

* Ghost dog Zero now makes a surprise appearance among the spooky, transforming portraits in the gallery corridor.

* The graveyard scene is covered with nearly 7,500 square feet of snow.

* More than 200 bones are used to decorate the building.

* Madame Leota’s “13 Days of Christmas” are featured in the seance room with spinning fortune cards that tell of the Christmas gifts.
