‘Glow With the Show’ ear hats coming to Disney World

Disney World visitors don’t get all the good stuff from Disneyland — Haunted Mansion Holiday, anyone? — but we won’t have to glow with envy over one thing much longer.

Disney is bringing its “Glow With the Show” Mickey Mouse ear hats to Florida.

The light-up hats will debut at Hollywood Studio’s Fantasmic show on Oct. 15, the 15th anniversary of the show. A few days later on Oct. 19, they will synchronize with the “Wishes” fireworks show and “Celebrate the Magic” show at Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom.

And during the holidays, you’ll get “special surprises” if you wear your glowing ears during the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

No word on whether they will be part of Illuminations at Epcot.

The hats cost about $25 a pair (compared to about $14 for the low-tech black ears) and discounts do apply.

But you don’t have to buy the hats to get the full effect. In fact, the people standing behind you may get more out of them than you will. But if they catch on, the video below will show you what kind of show you’ll be in store for starting next month at Disney World.
