The real life Griswolds are going on a family vacation, but not to Wally World, they’re heading to Disney World.

“Everyone remembers Clark Griswold from the 1983 movie ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’, and, of course, we have heard every joke in the book, having the last name Griswold,” Steve Griswold said in a press release.

Being fans of the movie Steve and his wife Lisa decided to try a “vacation” of their own and scoured the Internet for their ride – a 1984 Ford Country Squire LTD station wagon.

The Truckster took over six months to complete, he said in a release, it even has the vintage Samsonite luggage on top and dog leash on the rear bumper.

“Being a fan of the movie, we wanted a vehicle that would make people smile when they saw it, said Steve Griswold, who with his wife owns Pixie Vacations.

As travel agents, the most obvious place to take the car on its inaugural trip was to Walt Disney World.

They started tweeting on their road trip @GriswoldVac on July 16 and arrived at Disney on July 20 and are on their way back now.
