New Star Wars movie to be filmed in the United Kingdom

Production for the new Star Wars: Episode VII will take place in the United Kingdom where the previous Star Wars movies were made, according to the Star Wars Blog.

The movie, to be directed by J.J. Abrams is scheduled for release in 2015.

Lucasfilm representatives met with U.K. officials earlier this year.

“We’ve devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I’m thrilled that returning to the UK for production and utilizing the incredible talent there can be a part of that,” Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. said in a news release.
