Pixar’s Elastigirl tops UK list of best mothers
Elastigirl has been voted the best movie mom by British school children and members of the website LOVEFiLM.
Helen Parr, from the Disney-Pixar movie “The Incredibles” tops the list followed by Lilly Potter, Bambi’s mom and Sarah Conner.
The poll was done in honor of the UK Mother’s Day, which is March 10. Mother’s Day in the U.S. is May 12.
LOVEFiLM worked with film education charity and asked British schoolchildren across 7,000 schools, plus its two million members, to vote for their favorite on-screen mom, according to a news release from LOVEFiLM.
Elastigirl uses her powers to look after her family and keep them in line for “civilians” life and then can easily slip into the superhero role to help save the world. She received 26 percent of the vote.
“There’s no better way to say ‘thanks mum’ than by leaving the maternal duties to some of the on-screen mums in our Top Ten and giving yours the chance to put her feet up,” Helen Cowley, editor of LOVEFiLM, said in the news release.
