Disneyland to hold special 50th anniversary event for Enchanted Tiki Room

Disney is planning a special 50th anniversary event in Disneyland on June 28-29 at the Disneyland Hotel, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

There will be special themed merchandise for sale, artists signings, a silent auction, a trading area and commemorative gifts.

On June 23, 1963, the attraction debuted at Disneyland as the first Audio-Animatronics show. The 225  animated performers, including toucans, parrots, cockatoos, flowers, Tiki statues and wooden masks are led by four macaws named Jose, Michael, Pierre and Fritz.
