Star Wars ‘interactive adventure’ arrives at Disneyland, Disney World— and it’s expensive
If it’s not enough for your little Star Wars fan to be the Rebel spy on Star Tours, soon you will be able to give them an even more immersive experience.
The Star Wars Rebels Interactive Adventure begins when you arrive at your resort room to find an Empire banner hanging over your door. Inside, your Rebel will find all the gear necessary for this role-playing mission — including a data card to transmit information to their fellow Rebels on the Star Tours ride.
Using an augmented reality app on your smartphone, your Rebels scan targets or “way finders” around your resort room and the Star Tours ride to gather information.
Once your Rebel has completed the mission, they are awarded a Medal of Bravery on a lanyard that can be personalized.
All this comes at a price: $500, or more if you have more than one Rebel in your party.
So what do you get for that price? Each adventure includes one of each of the following (the add-on price if you want more than one of any given item appears in parentheses):
- An Empire recruitment banner hung over the door to your room ($81.99)
- Set of four Empire recruitment posters ($33.99 for a second set)
- Rebel data card lanyard ($9.99)
- Rebel utility blanket, which can be personalized ($28.99)
- Imperial Security Officer “undercover” uniform, including a rank bar, cap, satchel and a set of temporary tattoos ($86.99)
- A holocron ($27.99)
- Karan’s lightsaber ($24.95)
- Ezra’s journal, disguised as an Empire Communication Log Book ($17.99)
- A Medal of Bravery, like the one given to Luke and Han Solo in “Star Wars: A New Hope” ($53.99)
The adventure requires a compatible smartphone. Tablets are not compatible. Disney recommends downloading the app and checking for compatibility before you order the package.
Check out the details at Disney Floral and Gifts at Walt Disney World or Disney Floral and Gifts at Disneyland. Delivery to Disney resorts begins August 15th.
