Health officials investigating illness at Disney World

Health officials in Florida are investigating a stomach illness Walt Disney World guests contracted after taking the special Wild Africa Trek tour at the Animal Kingdom.

Several dozen cases were reported by the those who took the pricey three-hour special tour which takes you through wooded areas to watch hippos in a pool, cross a rope bridge over crocodiles and provides you a special view of the savanna with a specially prepared lunch, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

A person who posted on DisBoards.com, a forum for Disney fans, said the questioning from health officials led the person to think that authorities are focusing on hand washing and common items that were touched, including binoculars.

Disney has taken several steps, according to the Orlando Sentinel, including cleaning various surfaces that guests touch, handing out hand sanitizers and emphasizing hand-washing policies to all.

The Wild Africa Trek is one of the most-exclusive experiences at Disney World costing from $139 to $249 a person depending on the season.
