Disney Facts: Inside Big Thunder Mountain Rallroad
This ride in the Magic Kingdom probably has one of the more famous lines around – “This Here’s the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” – yes, we’re talking about the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Here are some little-known facts about the ride:

- The buckets, ore carts, mining cars and cogwheels were all taken from ghost owns in the west to make the ride look a authentic as possible.
- Over 4,000 gallons of paint, 900,000 gallons of water, tons, steel, concrete and hundreds of rock makers to create the realistic red rock buttes and mine buildings.
- All around the attraction close to two-dozen Audio-Animatronic figures including chickens, donkeys, goats and opossums can be seen.
- The songs playing throughout the ride include “Home on the Range,” “Little Brown Jug,” “Oh, My Darling Clementine” and “Red River Valley.”
