See how Disney World resorts faired from Hurricane Irma
Disney World, like the rest of the state of Florida, is littered with tree debris, but it does not appear there is any major damage to the resorts, where thousands of guests stayed to ride out Hurricane Irma.
Even Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom survived well, according to social media.
The massive storm blew through Florida Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 leaving more than half the state without power, causing massive flooding in coastal communities and brought Category 2 winds throughout the entire state. There was at least one death attributed to the storm. The impacts of this hurricane touched every part of the state.
There is still a curfew in place in many counties to allow emergency personnel to clear roads and get to locations to restore power.
The core of Hurricane Irma passed over Walt Disney World about 1:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 bringing wind gusts up to 110 mph. The storm was originally predicted to go up the east coast of Florida, then moved across the state and started heading up the Florida Keys and the west coast of Florida, before again veering to a new course, the center of the state.
