Take a behind-the-scenes look at Disney’s World of Avatar

It’s been a long time coming, but pretty soon we’ll be saying “Pandora: The World of Avatar” will be opening later this year at Animal Kingdom.
The World of Avatar is scheduled to open this summer with two marquee attractions: a thrill ride that has guests flying on the backs of banshees and the Na’vi River Journey (pictured at right), which simulates a river ride through a bioluminescent landscape.
To whet our appetites, Disney has released a new behind-the-scenes video featuring Avatar creator James Cameron, Imagineer Joe Rohde and lots of superlatives about the amazing, never-before-seen effects planned for the new land.
Of course, this is not the last you’ll see of Avatar: Cameron has planned four sequels to the 2009 original film, the first of which is scheduled to be released in 2018.
