Disney adding new ride to Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World

Disney is adding a new attraction to the Typhoon Lagoon water park.

Miss Fortune Falls is scheduled to open in the spring of 2017, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

The 2-minute family raft ride will be one of the lengthiest attractions at either of the Disney water parks. The raft will head to the top of the attraction before plunging into a white-water adventure, according to Disney.

The story behind the ride involves Captain Mary Oceaneer’s past. “Legend has it that Captain Oceanear, a treasure-hunting heroine, traveled across the sea collecting unique artifacts before she became stranded at Typhoon Lagoon many years ago by a rogue storm,” according to the Blog.
