Disney confirms: This is the last year for Osborne lights at Hollywood studios

Disney has confirmed what many have suspected: This will be the final year for the Osborne Family Christmas light display at Hollywood Studios.

Next year, the park breaks ground on the new Star Wars-themed land right next door to New York Street, which is home to the light display.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to the family of Jennings Osborne for
letting us share their family tradition year after year,” the Disney Parks Blog said today. “And thank you
to all of you for being part of the spectacle with us. Here’s to making
more memories in this, the 20th and final year.”

Of course, Disney is going to milk this last year for everything it’s worth and has announced two new premium experiences:

• Merry & Bright Dessert Party, Nov. 6-Dec. 30: Enjoy holiday themed desserts surrounded by the light display.
• Merry & Bright Dinner Reception, Jan. 1-3: Dinner consists of a selection small bites, including beef, shrimp and turkey, plus wine, beer and specialty beverages.

Booking opens Sept. 16, but costs were not announced.
