5 wacky Star Wars products released this week

Among the awesome toys and collectibles released on ForceFriday were a host of … well, let’s just call them more unusual tie-ins. Here are five that stood out:

1. Millennium Falcon bed ($3,399 from Pottery Barn Kids): Put the kiddos to bed in a twin-size Millennium Falcon cockpit. Admit it: You want one too.

2. 1, 2, 3, 4 … declare a thumb war, I do ($12.99 from Pottery Barn Kids): This is one of those things that makes you wonder whatever happened to the imagination — you know, turn your broomstick into a lightsaber, or have a thumb war with just your thumbs?

3. Chewbacca + Furby = Furbacca ($79.99 at Toys “R” Us): We thought Furby was over, but apparently Star Wars can revive any trend. The interactive toy responds to motion and touch, and works with a Furbacca app as well. But honestly, if you’re going to spend $80 for a toy, you might as well spend $150 on the BB-8 droid everyone is talking about.)

4. Chewbacca Crocs ($59.99 in adult sizes from Crocs): Who thought it was okay to line a pair of shoes with Chewbacca hair? The same people who thought it was okay to market a Chewie-skin rug, maybe? I’d rather go naked than wear Chewbacca fur.

5. Princess Leia hairpiece for your cat ($4.99 from Petco): We love the Star Wars toys Petco introduced this week, but this crosses the line from toy to torture device. If you’ve ever met a cat, you won’t wonder why there isn’t a picture of how this actually looks ON a cat.
